Sightseeing Vs Relaxing: What type of honeymoon are you looking for?
Sightseeing Vs Relaxing: What type of honeymoon are you looking for?

Planning a wedding in its entirety is exciting but planning your honeymoon should truly be the icing on the cake! Your first trip as husband and wife should be filled with relaxation, adventure and new memories. There are many ways to honeymoon and various destinations offer unique, once-in-lifetime activities. For couples looking for fast-paced excitement and nightlife, a trip to a major city would be the best choice. While small island communities offer a slower pace with more of a calming experiencing. We’ve chosen three destinations that offer unique and different honeymoon experiences for you and your new spouse to enjoy!

San Fransisco, California
Known for its tourism, San Fransisco offers a little bit everything for everyone. That is exactly what you will find when you honeymoon here – people from all over the world vacation in Cali!

Things to do:
A Must-Do in San Fransisco: visit the Golden Gate Bridge. Standing since 1937, this landmark stretches for 1.7 miles. If you are craving a tasty treat you can stop by Bob’s Donut and Pastry Shop – the apple fritters are known to be the perfect amount of apple and cinnamon – yum! While the city sleeps you can enjoy a popular speakeasy off of Jones Street, Bourbon and Branch, a 1920s secret bar that dates back to the days of the Prohibition. Make sure you call ahead – you must give a password at the door.

Where to stay:
If you want to stay at the heart of the city, Union Square and Convention Center are the best places to stay because boutique shops and restaurants are walking distance. Also, nearby Japantown is the home to the five-story mall that resembles a stack of wide umbrellas topped by an antenna.

Venice, Italy
Nothing says love more than celebrating your marriage in one of Europe’s most romantic cities! Surrounded by the crescent-shaped body of water, the Laguna Veneta, it is quite relaxing and exhilarating to vacation here.

Things to do:
The best way to get around in Venice is by using the waterways. Just as you’ve see in the movies, gondola rides are a fun way to get around the city. You’re in for a treat if you enjoy fish – the city is known for its seafood specialties. For the architectural lovers, you will not be disappointed. Many of the structures and buildings in Venice are now historical landmarks. The Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari was completed in the 1330s. The unique round window installments are a sight to see!

Where to stay:
Though many feel that staying outside of the city is more economical, traveling into the city can sometimes cost as much if not more. If you like the busy city, stay in San Marco or Piazzale Roma. For a more relaxed setting the Lido is a strip of land between Venice and the lagoon.

Papagayo Peninsula, Costa Rica
If you’re trying to escape the city with your loved one, Papagayo Peninsula is definitely the place to run off to. Only 25 minutes from the Liberia Costa Rica Airport, you will feel secluded in this beautiful and tropical country.

Things to do:
First and foremost – eat the food. Costa Rica is known for the fresh food that is grown. Tourists have complimented the taste and natural sweetness of pineapple and richness of their coffee. For some adventure, make sure you book zip-lining at the Rio Perdido course. But nothing says vacation like sun bathing on the beach. Enjoy the waves crashing miles away from home!

Where to stay:
The Andaz Resort andaz suite offers the most exquisite view of the tropical forest and even has a plunge pool just outside your door. This resort is between two beaches and has live music weekly.
